10 years of Devolution: Poverty and Inequalities

In association with Scotland’s Future Forum, SPIU will host a conference in the Chamber of the Scottish Parliament looking at poverty and  inequalities. Specifically, the conference will explore how the Scottish Parliament, over its first 10 years, has reduced the poverty and inequality gap in Scotland. It will also present views on what the Parliament should be doing in the next 10 years to further reduce poverty and inequality in Scotland.

Keynote Address to teachers of Modern Studies

Dr. John McKendrick has been asked to deliver the keynote address to Reciprocity 3, the annual conference for teachers of Modern Studies in Scotland. The conference is convened by the University of Strathclyde and focuses on the theme of Poverty in Scotland.

Sharon Wright as guest speaker

Sharon Wright of the University of Stirling will be presenting at Glasgow Caledonian University on the theme of ‘Welfare reform in the era of incentives: poverty, choice and responsibility’ as part of the Sociology Research Seminar Series.
